Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A chaotic road accident unfolded in front of Nazrul Tirtha in Newtown, bringing traffic to a standstill. The incident occurred when a private car, entering the second lane from Biswa Bangla Sarani, collided with another car at high speed, setting off a chain reaction of collisions with severe consequences.
The initial collision between two cars resulted in the loss of control for one of the vehicles. The out-of-control car subsequently struck a woman riding a bicycle, causing critical injuries. Following this, the car collided with an ice cream vending van, exacerbating the scope of the accident.
The critically injured woman has been admitted to a private hospital in Newtown, where she is currently undergoing treatment. The driver of the first car involved in the collision has also been taken to the hospital to address injuries sustained during the accident.
The aftermath of the multi-car collision led to a significant traffic jam on the road leading to the airport, inconveniencing commuters during the late evening hours .
